Job Summary
As an Engineer – Software Test & Release at Sasken, you will:
- Leverage broad technical knowledge or specialized expertise in telecom protocols.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in existing systems by following established procedures.
- Handle day-to-day operational tasks under the guidance of your Team Lead or Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Participate in coding, testing, bug-fixing, documentation, and technical support for your assigned module.
- Quality & Delivery: Meet productivity targets, adhere to coding standards, and follow internal review checklists.
- Reporting: Provide regular status updates to your Team Lead and comply with organizational processes.
- Skill Enhancement: Attend training sessions, engage in self-study, and complete periodic technical assessments.
Required Skills & Competencies
You will be working on 2G/3G/LTE/5G protocol testing, including:
- Protocol Stack Testing: Validate modem/UE protocol stacks and conduct interoperability tests with various network operators (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent) and NEM labs.
- Scenario Analysis & Automation: Understand signaling and user-plane call flows, develop test plans/cases, automate using PERL, Python, or TTCN, and perform log collection and root-cause analysis.
- 3GPP Radio Access Knowledge: Deep understanding of air interface, network signaling, Layer‑2/Layer‑3 protocols for UE & RAN, and NAS layer interactions with the core network.
- Tools & Platforms: Experience with Linux hosts and tools like QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu/Keysight instruments, RTD scripting, trace/log analyzers, and flashing utilities.
- Programming & Scripting: Proficient in Shell, TCL, Python, Perl, and knowledge of C/C++ and TTCN.
- Specializations: Exposure to INTEROP testing for 2G/3G/4G/5G and VSAT-SATCOM is a plus.
