🎯 Purpose of the Role

The Graduate Apprentice Trainee will support daily production operations, handle real-time data monitoring, and take part in continuous improvement activities. The focus is on applying lean principles to eliminate Muda, Mura, and Muri and contribute to an efficient and stable assembly line process.

This apprenticeship helps young engineers develop a strong foundation in manufacturing systems and operational excellence.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities (Main Tasks)

As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee at Volvo Group, you will:

  • Support process improvement initiatives to reduce waste (Muda), unevenness (Mura), and overburden (Muri).

  • Manage live production data and ensure accurate KPI/PI record maintenance.

  • Analyze ANDON triggers, quality issues, and support root-cause analysis.

  • Conduct video study analysis to optimize workflow and reduce cycle time.

  • Assist in Volvo’s digitalisation efforts within production.

  • Participate in safety activities, report hazards, and assist with risk assessments.

  • Track WIP vehicles, documentation, trials, and engineering changes.

  • Perform daily Gemba walks to identify process abnormalities.

  • Support IMQ (In-Process Quality) teams with inspection activities.

  • Prepare daily & weekly performance reports and maintain data accuracy.
